Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordragy announced Friday that his office has withdrawn an objectiojn to the pending sale of assets afted winning assurances that Ohio and othedr state lemon laws will not be disregardecd during thebankruptcy process. A multi-state negotiating groupl involved in the Chrysler bankruptcuy came to an accord on state lemonlaws Ohio’s law provides financial protectiob to consumers who purchased new vehicles, entitling them to a refundd or replacement of the vehicle if one or more problems covered by the warranty arises soon after Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protectioh in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York onAprilk 30.
Since then, Cordra y and other state attorneys general have been filing objections to the proceedings in an effort to protec t their consumersand industries. “While Chrysler I want to make surethat Ohio’s consumerw retain the strong protections afforde to them under Ohio law,” Cordray said in a “This agreement ensures that despite the sale of the Lemon Law still will continues to guard Chrysler’s customers.” Two other objections from Ohio are pendinfg in Chrysler’s case.
